    COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS - IMPORTANT!!!!!

    1. REGISTERED WITH THE SAFETRAVEL ONLINE SYSTEM

Completing the state of Hawaiʻi’s Safe Travels Hawaiʻi program application form and obtaining your QR code(s) for Hawaiʻi airport processing PRIOR TO departure will significantly reduce your arrival airport screening and processing time.

Prior to your arrival, if you are an adult (age 18 years or older) you will need to create an online user account and register with the State of Hawai‘i Safe Travels Hawai‘i program.

Once you create your Safe Travels Hawai‘i account, you will next need to enter your traveler information and trip details on the program’s application form. It is important to get the correct test and upload the correct form. Visit Safe Travels Hawai‘i Help for answers to questions about the online application form.

If you need assistance with login or technical issues, call the Safe Travels Program: 1-800-GOHAWAII or (1-800-464-2924) Press 1 for Safe Travels Digital Platform Technical Service Desk (10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Hawai‘i Standard Time). Domestic and international callers are accepted.

    2. GET TESTED WITHIN 72 HOURS OF BOARDING FLIGHT

All travelers ages five and over will be required to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from a certified Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) lab in order to bypass the State of Hawai‘i’s 10-day mandatory quarantine.

The State of Hawaiʻi will accept test results ONLY from TRUSTED TESTING AND TRAVEL PARTNERS.

The test will need to be taken no more than 72 hours before your flight departure time. If you have a multi-city flight itinerary, the departure time is from the last city you leave before arriving at a Hawai‘i airport (e.g. if your travel is from Chicago to Seattle to Honolulu, the departure time to look at is your flight from Seattle).

Once you receive your negative pre-travel test result, you will need to upload the result to your Safe Travels Hawai‘i account. This step is crucial, as it will be the only means for airport officials to verify your Safe Travel Hawai‘i information upon your arrival in Hawai‘i.

The negative test result must be uploaded onto the Safe Travels Hawai‘i account prior to departure or printed out prior to departure and hard copy in hand when arriving in Hawai‘i. Failure to do either will result in a 10-day quarantine upon arrival in Hawai‘

    3. DOWNLOAD REQUIRED APP TO CELL PHONE

     How it Works

    • Download the AlohaSafe Alert app on the Apple app store  or the Google Play store and run through the setup screens.
    • Your device, using Bluetooth technology, can now anonymously communicate with other phones. Devices running the AlohaSafe      Alert app “ping” each other, measuring the strength of the Bluetooth      signal and duration of interaction.
    • When your app senses a close contact, the two devices  will exchange a secure, random, anonymous code. Location, name and any other identifiable information are never included.
    • If you test positive for COVID-19 and have the app  running on your device, you will have the ability to share the anonymous codes your phone has transmitted. By sharing your anonymous codes, anyone      you exchanged codes with (that meet the minimum exposure criteria), will      receive an anonymous notification of possible exposure.
    • For an exposure notification to be triggered, devices you were in proximity to while infectious must meet a minimum threshold of      exposure, which is a distance of 6 ft or less for a minimum of 15 minutes.      The 15 minute threshold is cumulative, so a notification will be sent if      you were in close contact with one or more positive individuals for a      total of at least 15 minutes.

The infectious window is based on the date of symptom onset or date of test and the duration of infectiousness is set by the Hawaii Department of Health and is based on available science and local epidemiology.

    4. COMPLETE mANDATORY tRAVEL & HEALTH FORM

You will receive a notice 24 hours prior to your departure time to the Hawaiian Islands to complete the Mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form via your Safe Travels Hawai‘i account. The names of each child/children traveling with an adult registering will also need to be included in that adult’s Mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form.

Upon your completion of the Mandatory State of Hawai‘i Travel and Health Form, a QR code will be emailed to you. Airport personnel will need the QR code to locate and validate your Safe Travels Hawai‘i information upon your arrival in Hawai‘i.
